Ohio state representative
Alan Sundermeier is an Ohio State University Extension Educator (Wood County) with speciealization in sustainable agriculture. He is also the Co-Coordinator of the OSU Extension Sustainable Agriculture Team, as well as the Co-Principle Investigator of the Hirzel Sustainable Systems Project. He has placed a priority on applied research to help solve certain agronomic problems and brings an awareness of farming systems management which could be more sustainable, yet profitable. Alan's specialization areas are: tillage, research, soil quality, cover crop management, environmental awareness, soil nitrogen recommendations, and organic grain production. Alan as an educator, manages field operations, analyzes data, and develops educational programs on sustainable farming systems, including organic grain production. His cover crop research includes on-farm and university test plots with legume, grass, and brassica species to provide or recycle nutrients for grain production or supplemental forage production.
